Written Expression

my form of expression

Written expression is my form of expression. It is how I release all the thoughts, feelings and things inside my head. I find complete peace by expressing myself in this way and it is the best way I know how. So, this blog is for me. first and foremost. It is my creative and expressive outlet. Not only is this a great way to keep our loved ones updated on our lives but it was truly created out of a need from my soul. I don’t know if the seed was planted as a child because I always enjoyed and excelled in English class. I love to write and was told I was good at it. But it is definitely something that has been engrained in me ever since I can remember. I have always been a very goal-oriented person, who is a visual learner and is perpetually making lists. I think this form of expression also evolved over time and is why I took interest in marketing as a career. I really appreciate visual and verbal messaging that has the power to connect with an audience. If this blog has the capacity to connect with others, then the goal of a deeper purpose will make it that much more meaningful to me.

Those whose form of expression is written expression are typically also communicators. The people who don’t believe that there are things better left unsaid. This can be uncomfortable for those who are not communicators. I guess what I am getting at is I know this blog will not be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s okay. Because it is my healing tea and that is its main purpose. The written word vs. speaking it out loud has its positives. It allows for what is being conveyed to be thought through and carefully selected. However, because it is written out, it can be daunting for some to view it visually and can be perceived as “too much” or excessive. But if it were spoken out loud, it might not be received the same. For those who are not communicators, it might be received the same either way. So, any form of expression can have its up and its down sides depending on the audience. I don’t believe that thinking or analyzing anything should be viewed as a negative. When care and thought are put into it, to me it’s a positive. I value those who can see and appreciate the differences in others and can admire the qualities in each.

For me, it serves as a connection for my right and left brain- emotional intelligence with analytical thinking, creative with logic and expression with language. This is my small little space on the world wide web to do that and I am grateful to have it as an outlet.
